I'm still quite frustrated none of it was ever more exploited and officially released (and with Gilmour at the helm, it won't happen. That 68/72 era is probably my fave of theirs (something Glimour has also thrashed and trashed to bits), because it was 4 musos (sometimes 5, as Geesin was in there) exploring every possible artistic direction. While maybe not reaching the apex of Meddle, it (AHM) bears no weak points at all like the last two tracks (Seamus & San Tropez, which I systematically skip). Unlike the major 4 Floyd (from DSOTL to The Wall), I still spin it nowadays, something I could almost say for Meddle as well. Wow Rael, thanks for putting in words (almost) everything I'm thinking about this album, that always stood at the very top of Floyd's pantheon (even if Gilmoutr dosowns it for decades).
